We are proud to offer a bespoke Future Pathways programme that is tailored to the needs of each individual sixth form student. Whilst the majority of our students aspire to attend university, support and guidance is also available to those students who would like to partake in an apprenticeship or transition directly into employment. To support students in preparing for their next steps post-18, all Year 12 and 13 students have an hour on their formal timetable that is dedicated to Future Pathways. Within these sessions, students have direct access to an experienced mentor who will deliver a variety of sessions to equip students with the knowledge, confidence and skills to pursue their ambitions. For Year 12, this generally focuses on supporting students in determining the career path they would like to pursue whereas for Year 13 this is used to provide students with focused support for their UCAS, apprenticeship or employment applications. To support this, all students in Year 12 are offered a Future Pathways interview with a careers advisor and will experience a visit to a prestigious university. The Oxbridge Excellence Programme (OEP) has been developed to provide tailored support to those preparing to submit applications to Oxford or Cambridge. The programme provides students with a mentor who has experience at Oxford or Cambridge, as well as a subject mentor within school who will work with the student to enhance their knowledge and understanding of their field of interest. Students will also be given the opportunity to attend workshops, run by various experienced individuals, focused on a number of areas including ‘How to choose a college?’ and ‘What does a successful Oxbridge personal statement look like?’ and visit either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge. We are privileged to be partnered with a number of institutions and employers including Wadham College University of Oxford, QMUL, KCL, UCL, Microsoft and J P Morgan. These institutions and employers offer unrivalled opportunities for our students including access to: Realising Opportunities, K +, The Social Mobility Foundation, The Sutton Trust US Programme, and various employment workshops and networking events. These opportunities are fundamental in raising the aspirations of our students and familiarising them with the environments that they will be exposed to post-18. The personalised approach that is offered allows our students to progress to a variety of future pathways, with a high proportion of our cohort progressing to Russell Group and Top Third universities.
